First time to your channel, Grace, and so happy to have stumbled across it in my recommended UA-cam list. I'm 15 minutes in, and already mesmerized by this man. I don't know if you caught his term "satvic" in describing rest, but it hit me as it was a concept taught to me recently in yoga training. It encompasses a lot of the concepts he is pointing to and nodding towards, the idea of rest. As an American, conditioned that work is the primary goal to give purpose and meaning, without it - identity being lost or worth being diminished - what an incredibly introduction to an alternate way of thinking. I had to stop the video, just to note this and write a comment. I I also noticed how he began to slow down his speech here, speaking about rest more deeply @14:16. I can feel and sense his deep embodied belief in what he is saying. Yes, I am absolutely going to get his book(s) and tune in wherever he is speaking. I don't know him, but he has the eyes of a poet, the smile of a lover, and the face of man who has lived and endured. I have no idea what he has been through or where he wants to go - but so many of these ideas - salient concepts - seem almost revolutionary to even hear. I had to stop and wait, and process, and listen again. Maybe it's because my culture and background are so different - and these ideas are so nourishing and new - but even how he speaks about rest. I started learning about all of these ideas only in yoga training = and they are literally life changing. Ok, last point. I loved watching you with him. The contrast of youth and age, ambition and wisdom, hope and knowing. - all is it should be, all beautiful to witness. He seemed like a father would be, just so present to you, who you are... even. to the point of validating your self-criticism, telling you that it's your podcast and you can talk as much as you like. Almost as if his presense is meant to support and encourage your verbal exploration of ideas in a way that is supportive and deeply enriching - humble - present - respectful. I am in awe by what he said about wanting to change the world (and the ideas that seem so far off or people aiming to do so too). I will rewatch and learn more. I didn't get to my last point, anyway, just a PS. If you like things like this - his ideas - check out the work that Deepak Chopra is doing RIGHT now. I have every book he has written, literally, and I have never met another human like him in my life. Just being in his presence is transformative. But, he has a profound and specific goal he states: "My goal in everything that I do is to reach one billion people to create a movement of personal and social transformation for a critical mass to move the world in the direction of a more peaceful, sustainable, healthier and joyful world." He's in NY I think, where there is a cool community (Broome Street Temple) that he goes live from sometimes - I guess also doing a series of talks or interviews. He is working with AI ...omg (my favorite subject on earth) and suicide intervention. Babydoll, go find him. Keep going further and further with people who speak about these ideas. I. am in my 40s, and I think it took me "this long" to open to these ideas (so radical to the way I was raised) because I had to really become a woman who trusted in herself, enough to veer away from outdated and unhelpful philosophical ideas (that were never mine or felt right in the first place) to follow my own knowing, become less afraid to be different, and more comfortable with becoming who I was meant to be (vs. what others told me I needed to be). It took time for me to unwind, unlearn, trust myself, and go inside. So, if this note happens to reach you, take it from me ('"auntie") and swim in this sea. Dive in. Explore. Don't wait to follow this and these. Meet Deepak too. Who knows where it will lead. Sending you so much love, little one. Your new subscriber, Colleen.

I agree, good rest is as essential as good productive work. Not feeling ashamed to rest is a key part too. Correct it is important to reflect and also acknowledge yourself 'Job Well Done' and Congratulate yourself with a treat, I did an Amazing Thing'. I feel a lot of people want to see you fail or try to bring you down if they arent successful in any parts of their life. So definitely surrounding yourself with positive and supportive people is essential ❤

I discovered Caroline when she was just new to Cambridge. I was always so excited to see her posts and definitely was in awe of how “happy” her life seemed. Now I just feel sad for her and it baffles me how she still has a lot of fans. Not only is she stuck, Natalie lives rent free in her head- there won’t even be a book if Natalie didn’t publish hers. I’m happy Natalie is living life to the fullest and I hope Caroline heals and owns up to her mistakes someday.

Nahhhh. Men are still better with money than women. Your statistics don’t take into account how much financial burden falls on the men. We are also the biggest risk takers for entrepreneurship-owning a business. And we get demolished in divorces. Nevermind how much by nature we have take on in expenses and resources just to attract a woman in life and then keep them. Our biological make up is different. We are providers by nature. A huge burden to carry. Otherwise a good show. But highly disagree on that point. And i will also add. From actual experience. Women are not so easy to work with when it comes to being inappropriate in the work place. To men. Or even worst at times. With other women. You failed at that point when you concentrated so much in being a woman in the work place.

Just listening to this really highlighted for me how much my boyfriend has changed my life by creating a judge free zone. He bullied me into getting my finances on track, taught me how to open important letters and then paying the bills inside immediately, how to budget food shopping by sticking to the shopping list and generally allowing me to open up emotionally in a way that I've never had before. He doesn't even believe that ADHD is a real thing, and does all this intuitively, which just feels like the right person just magically appeared in my life 5 years ago. We've grown so much together, and as long as my little hobby ideas don't get too expensive, he doesn't really care. I've even quit my job to build up a business that I've been wanting to do for over a decade with his support (still in the starting stages but growing), I really don't know where I would be in my life if not for him. Might need to write him a little letter of appreciation or similar :p
